Reasons watching Game of Thrones

From the start, each episode keesp you on your toes, wondering what the thing that will happen in next moment, even if you’ve read the book and remember the plot detaily. A full hour of good quality program might be treated as too much to ask at first though, trust me, once the credits start to roll, you’ll catch yourself wondering how can a full hour seem so short. The directors have really done a great job here, I have to say, the balancebetween different situations, different characteristics and fellings to paint serious overlapping events with precision and care.

Proud, love, complaning, pride, rage, devotion, panic,  The Game of Thrones Series is definitely meant to leave a strong impression on its audiences! Your favorite characters are not invincible and the directors will not spare them so you could go to bed comforting, dreaming of true knights, romance and pretty maids. It’s real as it can be, with all these raw fellings sinking into your senses until you’re not sure who you might actually have a emontion toward them as like and hate.

Obviously the best reason to watch The Game of Thrones is, it’s characters and I still wonder how come it would be they’ve actually managed to pain a perfect picture of almost each one, despite the obvious lack of those precious inner monologues. You can see actual panic and nervous into Sansa’s eyes replacing the dreamy gaze because she realizes how monstrous her truly weapon is , feel the love constructing between Dany and her Khal, understand how sad and truly lost Cat is despite her best efforts to keep her composure and see through that Cersei could have been a completely different queen, if she had not been denied the place in Robert’s heart.

A mush up video of The Super Mario World/Game of Thrones

GUESS WHAT!!!  "Game of Thrones" fans have created a mush up video for game of throne by mix it up with Super Mario World. He is absolutely a creative GoT fans.

The videa is created by a youtuber name: NicksplosionFX. He formed a shot-by-shot remake of the hottest HBO drama at the moment. He puts the opening sequence of the drama using the map from Super Mario World. He even manages to find an 8-bit cover of the "Game of Thrones" theme and use the content from earlier games when the "Game of Thrones" intro shows designs to refer to the history of the realm.

Or, if you want to see just how accurate it is by comparing it to the original theme song, NicksplosionFX has also posted a video displaying the "Game of Thrones" intro side by side with his mush up video. How amazing is he?

The Red Viper

Prince Oberyn Asking the Right Questions

The Red Viper's introduction to this show was perfect. It introduced his character, his traits, his personality and his charm perfectly. We also saw his confidence and hate for the Lannisters.

Pedro Pascall, the actor for this complicated character, has captured him perfectly. He truly brings humour, sex appeal and a sharpness much needed in this man. Not to mention aesthetically, he is perfect:

So what is this character's purpose? Well I won't give to much away for non-readers but he is there for revenge. Revenge on the Lannisters for what they did to his family.

This is why we get the contemptuous questions and looks from him in the last episode.

He really doesn't care much about the politics and so it is only natural for him to constantly belittle and make fun of the doings in King's Landing.

It's hilarious and perfect

Acting Abilities

Peter Dinklage, Iwan Rheon, Alfie Allen

Wow, what a suberb episode, climactic ending and incredible portryal of the abilities of many of the actors. The latest episode of GoT, titled "The Laws of Gods and Men" set the bar for acting in a TV show.

Peter Dinklage gave probably the act of his career. The last scene in the latest episode needed a great portrayal of emotion, anger, hate, sadness and betrayal. Dinklage gave all of that and more. This definitely sets him on par with TV stars like Cranston (BrBa) and McConaughey (True Detective). It will be a tough emmy decider between these acting legends. Well done Peter!

Another great act from the last episode was by Iwan Rheon. This man has shown acting talent before in his previous show 'Misfits' however he's reached new heights playing the sadistic, demented and crazy Ramson Snow. This just shows how great the choices for actors ahs been in this series.

Lastly, Alfie Allen should get some praise. Playing the poor totured soul of Theon ( Perhaps it's best to call him 'Reek' :P ) who has attained a certain level of stockholm syndrome towards his captor Ramsay, it speaks volumes of his ability to play someone so broken.

The real history that inspired Game of Thrones

Hellooo Guys, this post is going to be about real history characters that have some similiar characteristics with the characters in GoT .

ROBB STARK
Robb has been matched to a young Edward IV, who also fought against the throne at an early age by commanding his armed forces of overwhelming victories over the Lancastrians. In 1460, Richard of York (Edward’s father) was killed in the Battle of Wakefield. The Lancastrians relieved Richard of his head and exposed it on a pike, just like in the show that what Joffrey did to Robb’s father, Ned.

EDDARD STARK

Ned has some similar characteristics with England’s last Yorkist king, Richard III.

Firstly, Richard was given tasks of leading the north of England and protecting the Scottish border before he ascended to the throne. And for Ned, he was Warden of the North under King Robert, and he had some connection with the Night’s Watch, which they have to protect wall from the night walker which is the northernmost boundary of the Seven Kingdoms.

ROBERT BARATHEON

At the beginning of the series, Robert is a fat and intolerable king who is fascinated in hunting, drinking and having sex than actually governing the Seven Kingdoms. He barely brings to mind of strapping, fearsome warrior who dethroned Aerys Targaryen.

That falls into similar situation to Edward IV, a successful warrior who became ignoble for spoiling in too much food, wine and sex. He died after a fishing trip, which is kind of similar to Robert, who got pierced by a wild boar while hunting.

Episode 4.06 - Predictions Thread

The Laws of Gods and Men

So today my post will cover a few predictions for the next episode. Beware, this may have possible spoilers. Also any feedback if any of our readers would like a weekly predictions thread would be greatly appreciated!

Prediction 1: It's time the Greyjoys came to the rescue. Asha (as seen in the ad for the next episode) is well on her way and I'm sure we'll get a nice hefty battle between her crew and Ramsay's crew.

Prediction 2: We will most definitely get Tyrion's trial. As a reader of the books, this is one of the more entertaining parts I am looking forward to.

Prediction 3: One must hope for a bit more of Pod the Rod (Podrick Payne) and Brienne. Those two are quite hilarious and a bit of comedy would be great alongside the normal violence and bloodshed!

Heres to a great episode!

How to avoid Game of Thrones spoilers

Here are some tips to aviod spoilers

1. Enable Twitter's "mute" function:

The first method is to stop using the social media such as twitter or Facebook until you have done watching the episode.

2. Avoid the word "purple":

I have no clue why we should do that. But I know as soon as you see this word try not to look at it to keep away from any unnecessary information.

3. Use a spoiler app:

Guess what? There is an app to prevent spoiler, kind of like Netflix's Spoiler Foiler, that able to stop allows you to block media feeds on Facebook and Twitter from over 50 TV shows and sports. However, it is only been used in Los Angeles.

4. Go on an extended holiday:

There are lots of holiday places that you can avoid the entire spoiler such as Tibetan Plateau because internet access is weak and you can live the life without knowing the spoiler. For other location you can also choose Antarctica, American Samoa, Alaska or the Sahara Desert.

Game of Thrones Depiction of Violence and Sex

If there is one thing Game of Thrones has been negatively talked about, it is the brutality, bloodshed and depiction of sex which is so prominent in the fantasy world.

Parents particularly are constantly complaining about the show and worried of it's effects on their children, both girls and boys.

This constant outcry from a section of the community is unjust though according to Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin.

He has said:

"I have to take issue with the notion that Westeros is a dark and depraved place. It's not the Disneyland Middle Ages, no, and that was quite deliberate... but it is no darker nor more depraved than our own world. History is written in blood. The atrocities in A Song of Ice and Fire, sexual and otherwise, pale in comparison to what can be found in any good history book."

This response is justified. How can we live in a world which is more concerned with the depiction of rape and violence in a fictional show, then the actual brutality it proves of the world currently.

 Spoilers!!

In the halfway of season 4 of Games of Thrones which would be published in 2015..

The Good

Joffrey’s Death
It’s odd. After episode after episode of hating Joffrey’s stupid face, watching his death wasn’t nearly as enjoyable as I’d expected. Despite his evilness, seeing him lying on the floor, looking desperately for his mother to make it all better was rather sad. The show nailed it though – Jack Gleeson’s performance, Jaimie’s panicked dash, the strange colouring of Joffrey’s face. It all worked perfectly, and it’s most definitely one of the best TV deaths in history.

The Bad

Jaimie becoming a rapist
The worst part of this season has to be the moment when Jaimie raped Cersei in front of Joffrey’s corpse. What’s maddening is that it wasn’t actually meant to happen. In the book Cersei consents, and the director claims that the same thing happened in the show.  He mucked it terribly though, very few people took it the way he intended, and Jaimie’s character now has the added sin of incestuous rape to bear. A low point.

King's Hand in GoT

In the Seven Kingdoms, the most dominant position is The Hand of the King (or King's Hand, only after the King in authority and responsibility. The Hand is the King's nearest advisor and he allowed appointing and authorizing to make judgments under the King's name. It has ranked the highest in member of the small council, and manages discussions of the council as proxy for the king.

During the control of great kings, the Hand is the chief agent for directing, supporting and following the king's ideas. During the control of weak or ineffectual kings, the Hand is often the true power behind the authority, and the man that is responsible for holding the kingdom together. In GoT, when Lord Tywin Lannister had served as Hand of the King for twenty years while King Aerys II Targaryen spiraled into insanity. The Hand is supposed to follow and achieve plans attained by the king, however during the control of unsuccessful king it is the time for the Hand to wipe the political mess created by inexpert leaders, a common saying is that "The King shits, and the Hand wipes"
